Bonjour y’all! I’m writing from France, where I’ll be for the next few months. It’s been a long, winding road to get here, and I’m grateful to have you with me. I want to share the journey that led me to this point—the fears, the doubts, the realizations, and the determination to follow through when every part of me wanted to quit. Thank you for joining me here.

Untangling fear and false narratives

My return to writing emerged from a deep need to untangle the negative thoughts that held me back. For too long, internalized capitalism convinced me that self-care was a weakness—something to be dealt with “later,” ideally when I had more money to invest in it. Writing for myself, purely out of joy, felt defiant. Putting my thoughts down for others to see felt risky. Because let’s be honest: criticizing widely promoted capitalist narratives—especially as a woman—doesn’t win you any gold stars. Women who speak their truths are often scapegoated and rarely celebrated. In a system that thrives on undervaluing care, emotional labor, and collaboration—the very strengths women often bring—authentic expression and critique are seen as threats rather than assets. Nevertheless, I persisted.
