The Restorative Rebel Newsletter: July 2025
Sunlight, stillness & managing the hustle hangover. More glow, less grind.

Hi friends,
Summer is in full swing, and while the light lingers longer, I’ve been trying to enjoy it without slipping back into my old habit of packing every hour with work or commitments. I’m trying, and failing, and trying again, to practice what I wrote about in the book: reclaiming my time, resting guilt-free, and finding peace in the in-between moments.
It’s not always easy. Slowness is a muscle I’m still learning to use. And honestly? Some days, it feels more natural to jump back into “doing mode” than to rest or reflect. But I’m trying—and that’s what this season feels like: a time to create peace within whatever situation I’m in, because times, they are changing.
This past month has been full in every sense—professionally, creatively, and personally. Even though the pace has shifted, the meaning hasn’t. I’ve been writing, reflecting, connecting with readers, and continuing to see where The Restorative Rebel lands. Some months are louder. Some are slower. But all of it counts.
In my most recent deep dives:
🔹 Chapter 6: Everyone is an Entrepreneur explores how capitalism has made self-reliance a requirement, from healthcare to education to basic stability. The system tells us we’re on our own, and we hustle accordingly.
🔹 Chapter 7: Embracing Joy and Taking Care asked: What happens when we stop grinding long enough to feel something else? This chapter was a joy to write—part reflection, part resistance. I shared my experience becoming a parent during the pandemic, how my job couldn’t accommodate my care responsibilities, and how I’ve been rethinking what actually counts as “real work.”
💡 TL:DR: Everyone has to be scrappy because capitalism doesn’t care about you, but because of that, joy and care aren’t bonuses. They’re the foundation for a meaningful life.
